Spanish/ English Translator and ESL Teacher

As a Spanish major in Messiah College, studying abroad in either Spain or Chile for a whole semester is a major requirement. I chose to live and study in Valparaiso, Chile for 5 months in my junior year of college. This was an amazingly unique, inspiring, and difficult journey. 

Chile is an incredible country, filled with gigantic glaciers, aid deserts, cold rain forests, live volcanoes and sunny beaches. I spent most of my time in a port city, near the beach. After my first 2 months of struggling to understand the Chilean accent, I was finally comfortable with it enough to travel around the country. My language skills grew in ways could not imagine during this trip and I am so thankful for that. However, it was not easy and many times I did not understand what was happening, but God put kind helpful people in my travels.
