Brazil!
Two of the most intense weeks of my life!

Living in Londrina
Igreja Missionaria Comunidade Shalom
A group of students, 2 professors, and I backed our bags and flew down to a beautiful city in southern state of Parana, Brazil, called Londrina. This gorgeous city is filled with skyscrapers, luscious greenery, and a serene lake in the city center. Londrina means "little London" in Brazilian Portuguese and so, there are classic English telephone booths throughout the city. We had the benefit of staying in a seminary connected to the church, Igreja Missionaria Comunidade Shalom. They welcomed us with open arms, fed us, and helped provide transportation for our group.
Teaching in Private Schools
PGD and Portinari
During our 2 week stay in Brazil, we visited and taught English in 3 different private schools. Two of which, we were able to visit more than once. In PGD, we had the privilege of helping lead bilingual worship for the student chapel. Later on that week we came back to teach a multitude of English classes with ranging topics. In Portinari, we had the opportunity to teach and co-teach several classes off elementary school children in addition to giving a college presentation to the middle school students.

Youth and Young Adult Retreats
Acampamento Shalom
Every weekend in Brazil we were invited to a church retreat at a countryside camp grounds called Camp Shalom. Our first weekend, we were middle and high school students, but our second weekend, the campers were young adults, many of which were also in college. Between chapels, worship, group activities, and meals, we all bonded and made many memories.

Visiting a World Wonder
Foz de Iguazu
At the end of our trip we were fortunate enough to be able to visit the famous Iguazu Falls in Brazil. The Iguazu Falls is the largest waterfall in South America and one of the largest waterfalls in the entire world. Its waters are surrounded by 3 different countries, including Argentina, Brazil, and Paraguay. I and my classmates had the incredible experience of witnessing the falls from the Brazilian national park, which is absolutely gorgeous.
